I am a watercolorist whose creativity has been nurtured by Alaska’s landscapes over my lifetime. Initially drawn to watercolor for its expressive spontaneity and stubbornness, I have deepened my creative vision and connection to the medium by following the curiosity that leads me throughout the diverse environments of my home.
My collaborative relationship with watercolor conjures the spirit of a landscape and evokes a universal nostalgia that fosters reciprocity and a deeper connection to place. I seek the quiet, nuanced beauty found in simplicity and stillness that is often overlooked amongst the grandiose or obvious. My work is a reflection of the infinite, intangible, and ethereal qualities of the natural world. |
I live and work on ancestral lands of the Dena people of the lower Tanana River
"As my artist statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance"
- Calvin and Hobbes
